Ok here is a really weird problem with my 69 camaro. It has a '77 350 with carb.
New starter, older battery, old alternator. New pertronix 1181LS and flame thrower coil.
Here is the deal: the car starts fine when cold and barely turns over when warm!!
I live in Maine and started it this morning in 35 degree temps.drove it for 3 minutes parked it for 15 minutes and when I tried to start it, it cranked over really slowly 3 times then fired up. This problem has developed after putting the pertronix in, and is getting worse since then. The cooler the engine the easyer it is to start. I don't get it.
Any Ideas?
Thanks

The old Camaros were known for starter troubles when the starter got hot, but I don't think that is the case with 35 deg outside temps. I am thinking that your new distributor is set with too much initial spark advance, as that would alsogive the symptoms you described. If you haven't done it, set the initial advance to spec using a timing lite. It could also be that the starter has seen better days, but check the timing first, it is easier and cheaper to do.
