Should I rebuild my 94 camaro?
 

I need a little input on what to do here. I'm going to go to college next year, and I have always wanted to fix up my camaro. It has the 3.4L and is an automatic. The interior is a little rough, including the seats. The switches on both the drivers and passenger sides are popping out of the panels. The carpet is in rough shape. It needs repainted. The engine is fine as is the electrical. I have, however, driven it the past two winters up here in Indiana. I'm just looking for a little advice on what to do. Save up for another car? Any input is greatly appreciated.

If you really like the car and you have the money to rebuild it, then do it is what i say. To do the complete interior, the engine, tranny, and alittle body work could run you a pretty penny but like i said it you love the car and wanna keep it then do it, if not just make sure you get another chevy:icon_wink:

I know it's gonna be pretty expensive. I could just start pinching pennies for a 5th gen. :icon_wink:

Sounds like the car is not in the best condition. A restore & rebuild of V-6 car woud be a waste of money in my opinion. If you like the 4th gen style, just look around for replacement and it will be less expensive then your idea.

One thing to keep in mind........if you fix it up, you can determine how much money you spend on it and when. If you decide to purchase another and for some reason don't have the cash to buy it outright, someone else determines how much you pay and how fast! With college coming up, if it were me, I'd be keeping it and just fixin it up a little at a time as money allows, especially if the engine and tranny are working ok. I made that mistake of buying a car while going to college. It was not fun working my butt off to pay for it while everyone else was going to ballgames, frat parties, etc. JMO.

you can get a cheap overspray of the car. They will mask off everything and if you want the recess for the license plate sprayed i suggest removing the plate yourself. Why spend $thousands on a nice paint job, you just want to clean it up. So, budget in around $500-$700 at most for a cheap job. The car will actually look good but it won't have clear coat.

then, some seat covers and as for the switches, those are cheap, check Ebay.
