Series 2 And Series 3 ?
Whats The Differences Between A GM Series 2 And 3 Carrier? Sick
|
RE: Series 2 And Series 3 ?
3 Series Carriers are for 2.73:1 - 3.96:1 ring and pinion gears. 2 series carriers are for those numerically lower (taller gears) which are rather uncommon. the difference in the carriers themselves is where the ring gear bolts up - ring gear placement (side to side) in relation to pinion gear centerline. 2 series gear carriers will be "further away" from center than 3 series, and so goes the relationship with 4 series carriers/gears. you CAN install a spacer to put a 4 series ring gear on a 3 series carrier, but nobody with half a bit of sense would put much power to it. I assume that the same can be done with 2 series carriers and 3 series gears, but again, I wouldn't recommend it. hope this answers your question.

I got them from an ebay merchant that deals in used gears. he said they came out of an s-10. He has a good rep. i paid $99.00 for a good used set. here's a link to some of his gears. you can contact him and see if he has anymore. Here is his email and the link ... junkmasta@aol.com ... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GM-7-...QQcmdZViewItem ... Sick
