Well here's my story. When I bought the car I was told that it needed a new timing chain. Without caring to get it checked over before I bought because it was cheap. Ive token apart all the way up to the timing chain. The chain seems fine, the sprockets seem fine. But the chain feels loose. There is a tensioner on my model (1982 Chevy Camaro Berlientta v6 2.8l). someone told me its tensioned by the oil pressure.
Should I just replace it and put everything back, or bring it into a shop. Unfortunatly I dont have the experience to see whats exactly wrong with cars so im not sure.
Help is appreciated
Thanks n' Cheers

When you get a timing chain repair kit for your motor, it'll come with everything needed to replace it. ALong with the tensioner, gears, and chain. Look for spending upwards to $500 for a self repair project.

Ok went down to Lordo Auto Parts bought my timing chain kit, silicon, and gasket set. Got my College discount and got it all for like 80 bucks. Luckily no tensioner on my car.
