Default Remove/replace outer window sweep strip

I need to replace the outside window sweep strips on my 3rd gen '84, they are dry rotted and cracked. Two of the screws holding the strip are behind the window glass. Are there any "tricks" to remove these screws without taking out the window glass?? With the window up or down, I cannot get to these screws!

Yeah those are a pain. Other than removing the two guides bolted to the top of the door that stop the glass from in and out movment there is nothing else to do. If you start unbolting the regulator then you run into alignment problems if you never done it before.

I took a quick look at it before I posted, but didn't dig into it yet. Now that you mention the guides, it makes sense I might be able to loosen those guides and get enough room to use a right angle screwdriver. I'll try that this weekend, Thanks.

I was able to remove it as you suggested by taking off the two top guides and using a right angle screw driver - just enough room. I also had to remove the triangle filler plate at the front of the door by loosening the front guide assembly. There was one screw behind that plate.

Thanks for the tip!
