Default rebuliding

Now i am looking for good cheap 350 small block parts. Plus, could a block be saved if a valve went through a piston head. My engine was trusted with someone while i was out of town and they allowed someone to tinker with my first engine that help build with a guide. It only had 62 miles on it and i had not driven it yet!
