Default Rear End Gear Ratio

So I am building a 1987 Camaro. I am getting a Moser 9in. rear end. However I don't know much about gear ratio. What is a good gear ratio for a street/strip car pushing 450 hp or so? Also what in the world is the spline count about? What would be a good one?

I would use a 3.89 or 4.10 ford gear with 31 spline minum, if your going over 500 hp maybe step up to the 35 spine axle for strength. They guys at Moser are also very helpful with these and other application questions. good luck.
