Default rear diff

I'm new to the sight, but I've heard great things so here goes. I counted the teeth on my ring and pinion gear and did the math on one of those gear ratio sights. According to the math I have 3.31's in my 12 bolt rear end. The guy that I bout the car from said that it had 4.10's. BIG difference! Did the guy lie to me or do you think I did something wrong with the math? 3.31's seam odd to me. Doese chevy make such a ratio?

[&:] yes chevy did make that ratio. the tooth count will be 13 and 43 on the pinion and ring gear. this wasnt one of the more popular ratios and i havent seen it used much if at all of late either but gm did make and use it. its probably a better all around ratio to have as 410's may launch nice they suuuuuck for freeway or high speed driving kurt

Are you saying the 3.31's suck or the 4.10's? The 3.73's will be worse than the 3.31's on the hwy.
