quick question

Default quick question

does anybody know how much HP a stock 700R4 trans can take??? i'm thinking of bolting one up to the 350 and throwing the whole combo in the RS

it really depends on the status of the 700r4.Some people can get them to hold pretty well, other can break them easily.But i see more people bolting up the TH trans more now days

my friend has a stock 305 tpi in his 87 trans am and the 700 didnt hold up to well and i had one in my truck with a stock 350 and i went throw 2 during winter alone soo i dont trust them to much

A 1988 and newer (stronger internals) can handle between 350-450 h.p.
Of course that would be a stock rebuilt one, not a sloppy used and worn one.

had the cracks repaired

and thanks for the info. i'm only looking at around 425-435bhp so it should hold up pretty well.
