removing your powersteering will make it very hard to turn the wheel youll need a non ps gear box but to me removing the ps would be a bad idea unless all you want to do is go in straight lines

I have manual steering in my 69. The only time I may have to fight the steering wheel is if I parallel park, which is almost never. It is a little harder to turn the wheel when negotiating a turn, but not so bad. Manual does not turn as easy like power steering does. If your p.s. is working fine, and not leaking, I would leave it in. Especially since your car is more nose heavy than mine.
