Default new motor

i just bought a 95 camaro with a v6 and was wondering if any one has pulled the v6 and put in a v8 and if they needed to change any motor mounts or tranny brackets.

Well, when I looked into buying a third gen, there were many cheep v-6 cars around. All the research I did told em to just buy a v-8 car. It was not worth the swap hassle to buy a v-6 to convert to a v-8. I dunno about the 4th gens.

Somewhere (JEGS, Thunder Racing) you can probably buy kits, but yes, you'll need a few things to change to a V8, including new front strpings.

a suggestion to go by is this, if you dont wanna hassle with the swap to a v-8 look around for a 3400 v6 out of the later model grand am's. also the car itself is sh*t the engine is a good v-6 base. use the cam out of the engine you have now and see about gettin some larger fuel rails to flow better. after that duel turbos can add serious power. in the long run it may end up bein a bit more expensive, but less of a hassle and guaranteed no one will expect the power you will be puttin down.

You will have to change trans. crossmember and motor mounts.
