my camaro shakes when on drive
my V6 3.4 seems to shake on drive. my dad and friends think it may be the valve, maybe the vacums, but what else could cause the shaking or could it be one of those. tomorrow ill put a special liquad for the valves and well see from there.
bad news .. there is no special liquid for a burnt valve. need to be more specific. what kind of shaking? you mean when idling the engine is rocking? Or You feel a vibration when driving it? does it do this all the time? have you had a tuneup? how many miles it got on it? is it using oil? any backfire? does it stall out? sick
ok i put a valvemedic liquad from discount autopart and put it where u put the oil. i drive it around for 5 minutes and it still make a clicking noise on the top cam on the passeger side. the car shakes when im on drive but when the car is still, when i push the gas it feel fine. as i recall when i was on the expressway i was doing 80 and the car shaking but not violently, i would say to the point that i could feel the foot pedal shaking. tune up wise i did change the spark plug like a few months ago, same goes for the spark plug wires, i also changed the oil like 2 months ago. the car has 115k and does not backfire and does stall. now i did add a jet power mod to the computer, a cold air intake, cleaned out the catalyic, and put a dual muffler from a V8.
that clicking noise is most likely a bad lifter. and if you have a bad lifter that particular valve isn't functioning properly. which would explain it missing and shaking. if your looking to repair it, i would replace the cam and lifters or i would atleast remove the cam and inspect it for flat lobes. you can get cam and lifter kits fairly reasonable on ebay. sick
