Lug key broke and lugs striped!!
I was taking the rear tires off to get ready for my 4.10 install. The lugs I have on the car require a hex shaped key that fits inside the lug. As I was taking them off the key striped and so did the inside of the lug. I've tried everything I can think of to get them off besides welding to the lug itself (don't want to ruin the rims). Is there any way to get them off?

I've spun a set of wheel locks off before using a hammer and a well sharpened cold chisel, held at a slight angle up, and the tip on the corner of the nut so as to move it counter-clockwise. You have to be careful not to slip and ding your wheel, which is why a sharp chisel is important so it will dig in.

There are special sockets made that can grab the ouside of the lug nut and thread themseves on to the nut when trying to unscrew it. Picked up a set at a parts store a few years back and they worked very well.

The way the rim and lugs are theres no way to get anything on the outside of the lug. It sits flush with the rim

I'd post a picture of it but I'm not sure how
