hey everybody. i just bought a 1992 rs automatic and it wont start. the people i bought id from said it had been sitting for about three years so i put new spark plugs wires cap rotor and battery but it wont turn ove it doesnt even try. it didnt ocme with a key so i had to finish what they started which is cut out the rest of the ignition until i can put in a new one. please someone help me im desperate to get my new baby running

 

You have a passkey system that needs to comunicate with the computer. If you dont use the ignition key with the pellet in it then it is not suposed to start.
You can also start by checking for power at the starter solenoid.

 

AND, unless you've changed all the fluids also, don't try to start it ...it sat for 3 years, you need to drain the gastank, chainge the oil and tranny fluid at least!

 

also u might check and just go ahead and replace the battery cables, they may look okay but looks are often deceiving. I would think it shouldnt cost too much to go ahead and get an ignition and tumbler which will come with new keys. I had a similiar prob with my 86 but it doesnt have the chip in the key. It was the wires on mine.
