Default Halo headlight installation & info

The headlights on my '99 worked, but the lens were bad. Worked on them a bunch, and bought a plastic polish kit online. Better, but still looked like they had been sandblasted.
Bought a CHEAP set of halo headlights on ebay ($129 total), put new bulbs in the parking and turn/running lights while access was easy. Wiring the halos was easy, if you have those crimp on connectors where you can tie a wire into a existing circuit without splicing. Halos come on with the parking lights, and also the headlights. Look cool. Installed the new lights, but there were problems. They might look to have the same dimensions, but they don't. Had to elongate the hole in the mounting bracket where the 10 mm mounting bolt goes through. Had to play around with the adjustment screws to even get the lamps into place. Finally did, and then did the adjustments. Seems like you bring alow beam up where you want it, and then thehigh beam is too high, and the left to right adjustment has only minor effect. Went to close the hood, and it wouldn't close. Checked, lamp was close, but I slammed it shut. Lamp on the right popped out. Back to square one, including more slotting on the mounting bracket. In trying to keep the lamps tightly in place, I stripped out the brass threads in the left lamp mounting bracket. After a really fun time, I finally got the 10 mm bolt cut off, Good news is that now I could use a man sized bolt, and really crank it tight. Still need to play with the adjustments, but I think I will need to have really high high beams in order to have low beams that will work. This was a new project for me, but I have done a lot of wrenching over the years. I am sure I have at least at least 7 hours into this project, so if you are short on time or patience be forewarned.
