Default Giving up on my A/C :(

well I live in south Florida, and my car has no air conditioning. Not to mention the drivers side window wont go down. I have a 98 3800 that was just rebuilt and I'm trying to get the a/c to start kicking again. I troubleshooted the system recharged it with freon and found there is a leak somewhere because the system was empty after two days.

The leak is not visible from the engine compartment even with UV dye. Compressor is fine and clutch engages when system is charged. I just replaced the evaporator core with one of a 2000 cam and recharged it again but still had the same problem. I replaced all O-rings and seals in the system and recharged it once more but to no avail... after a few days the freon is gone... the system is still leaking!

Please help... two bottles of freon every week isn't cheap.

Ask around and find a good shop. A good Freon sniffer should make quick work of a pound per 3 day leak. Condenser is a big possiblity. Also sometimes compressors leak behind the clutch and you don't see the dye. Most shops over charge for AC work but even at 100 per hour it would be worth it to be sure the condensor is leaking before tearing all that apart. Atleast it would be worth it to me.
