Default Gas Gauge craziness

do all camaro gas gauges like to jump around? I have learned to just go with the lowest point it hops to, but it is annoying and my friend recently bought an 86 Z28 350 and his gas gauge is even worse than mine, is there any way to fix this? I have a 97 3.8l 5-speed if it matters.

I've had a 91, 94, and 96, and can't recall mine bouncing at an annoying rate. I have read (here mostly) where other guys do experience the same thing as you. I presume you're only referring to when you're driving and not when it's sitting? One thing I can think of is how full do you keep your tank? If you keep your level low, I would expect you to see more activity on the gas gauge since the gas could be sloshing around more, which could cause quicker momentary level drops. Try filling the tank and see what happens.

I have the same problem. At a full tank my gauge shows maybe a quarter tank PAST the full mark and bobs whenever in the process of braking or making turns. Specifically, it'll go down when making right turns and up when making left turns, weird. When it goes it'll go maybe a quarter tank in either direction when it does bob around.

my 97 dont bounce around or bob but I am guessing its off just a bit. No way is it possibly right if it hold almost 9 gallons from 3/4 a tank. Considering its what a 17 or 18 gallon tank?
I will admit it feels really good though when you can go 100 miles on the trip od before it drops off full. Now once it starts to fall its like a rock though.
