Default electrical issues.....

Alright...I have this 1967 Camaro that I just got out of the shop a few weeks ago. I bought it wrecked and put a new subframe and all new front body pieces on it. Well since the car was sitting for about 2 years until I got my hands on it, it has many issues. The one that I'm concerning my time with right now is the fact that whether the car is running or not when I turn the headlights on the two little blinker lights in the dash turn on and stay on, and the fuel gauge needle goes all the way to empty and then some. Like I said it does it when it's running and when it's not. I'm thinking it's either something really easy or really complicated. So if anyone has ever seen anything like that I'd like to hear about it. Thanks........

your right in both respects its something very easy and very complicated. tracing wires is a pain in the **** and thats the only way your gonna fix it. one thing i can tell you is camaros as old as yours tend to have ground problems. if i was you i would start there. checking every ground wire connection on the body. starting with the small ground wire that grounds the battery to the body. alot of times the smaller ground wire gets over looked and can cause all sorts of electrical problems. every ground wire you find ... unbolt it sand the area and reconnect. wish i could help you more but there are literally hundreds of wire connections on a wiring harness. its gonna be a booger to isolate. sick

Alright, I'll have to check the ground wires out. I know that some of those wires are really old and kind of brittle. Now I'm thinking that it must be a ground or wiring having to do only with the headlights since everything else electrical on the car works great. Ill do some checking and let you know. Thanks for the pointers.....
