HEI is High Energy Ignition distributor. EGR wasn't found on a Camaro until 1982. EGR stands for Exhaust Gas Regulation. You can also buy block off plates to remove it and gain m ore horsepower.

That may depend on where you live or where your car came from. Here in California it is from 73.

I'm secting parts for my project a Camaro 74 - 75. Searching in edelbrock's site thety list a lto fo models of intake manifold. Someone have the EGR another doesn't. So it's the same thing with ignition, here i'll use MSD system but i needto know if this model of Camaro have HEI ignition because i have to select the right distributor. I'm waiting the reply from MSD.

You have a V8? If you do not have emissions where you live you can get a non egr. If you do you need to check your areas regulations. Any small block distributer will work. There were few exceptions for a small block chevy but you should not have one of them.
