I have a convertable 99 camaro, and the the top wont go up using the switch, goes down okay using the switch, but to put it up I have to exit the car, open the trunk, turn the by-pass switch , climb in the back and pull the top up like a moron...its embarrassing as all hell. oh yeah I did replace the switch. any insight would be appreciated. and the damn airbag light is on too!!!

 

Those things operate with a motor similar to a power window motor. Considering other posts on this site, I'd have the motor tested or replace it.
