Default Clogged cat?
THIS IS NOT FOR A CAMARO...it's for a 89 Cutlass FWD 2.8V6 that I'm looking into buying. Went and looked at it today, the guy said I couldn't drive it home bc it would die. Sure enough about 10min of idling and it died. He said the cat was clogged? Is this a reasonable explaination?

Also, one of the wishbone motor mounts was loose...what does this tell me?

10 minutes of running then dies does not sound like a clogged cat. If its plugged, its plugged. Is it ten minutes after cold start up? Or is it ten minutes any time, warm or cold engine?

I didn't check the starting temp...

Wasn't puffing white clouds so I didn't think it was a head gasket...

Yea I would think a Clogged cat would die much earlier than that.

It could have been 5min...not sure, wasn't timing the thing

Although I wasn't paying attention when it died, but THE BEST i can recall it died semi-abbruptly...
