It's been a number of years but it seems like this was it. I do know the one I bought was made by another company, maybe out of business, not sure. There isn't a link on the advance website but if you look in the section with all the "Help!" parts like in the link you should be able to find it. NEW HELP! HELP 47007 EGR CLEAN SCREEN GASKETS QTY: 2 | eBay

I would think they would break up on their own. Those chunks aren't very hard they break up easily. It's just that the spring on the button is very weak to allow nothing more than increased suction during high vacuum to open. This makes it so that the egr valve can't break the chunks up on it's own. By keeping them from going in you prevent the rough idling the chunks cause when they are holding the egr valve open. The egr valve only opens during high vacuum which limits it mainly to low rpms but if it is held open the PCM will alter fuel and airflow to the numbers you would see during high vacuum causing a rough idle at different rpms than what the egr valve being that far open would generally mean to the pcm.

Any code reader should report any codes that are being pulled simultaneously. My camaro was running just fine for the last 10 yrs then my 17 yr old drives it for 4 weeks (right after I had interior/exterior detailed for $280.00) anyway and all kinds of stuff is goin on i pulled mis-fve-ccm-cat-eva-025-htr-egr-PO305 PO102, I knew the gas cap was left off which was the eva code so i replaced that and retested and all the other ones disappeared leaving me with only a PO102 So at first glance I thought what the then baam not so bad. Auto Zone has a pretty good one for $89.95
