Default Battery drain

I have a 97 v6 camaro and when i was driving it i went to turn on the ac and the car went black and shut off. I pushed it to the side of the road and cheked the voltage the battery was giving me and it said it was like 6 or 7 volts, i removed the positive terminal and it reset itself and worked, but similar things have happened since then. Also the spedomiter shot up to over 120 even though i was not moving Is there some shut off built in that resets. The battery is new and the conection is good thank you for any help

Default RE: Battery drain

make sure the surface of it is clean.. you can clean it with baking soda + water... and check the terminals if its a maintenance free battery

yo, same thing happened with my grand prix, after about a month of haywire gauges and shutting off all of a sudden, it turned out to be the alternator. it costed about 75 bucks with a core return.
