98 Camaro - not working on all cylinders
 

I have a 98 Camaro - V6 3.8 - 85,000 mi. It's been sitting in the driveway for about 3 months. I started it a few times during that time but when I start it now it will sometimes sputter. I've noticed after about 20 minutes the RPM's will jump up to around 2 or 3 for a while and then drop down ...and almost cut out. The car then seems to work on only half the cylinders. I have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it going. If I turn it off and leave it for an hour when I start it she seems OK for about 20 --30 minutes. I've also noticed that the two fans cut in shortly after starting.....can't recall that happening before. Could this be a gas problem?

it could be but then it would have troulble firing off the gas when you start it up.actually My truck has been sitting for about a year now with the same gas it had before I parked it and it wont fire off the gas but it will run off it.I dont think its a gas problem but you never know, you could get lucky....

darkbird, do you think it could be a choke issue? i have an older truck that has issues with the electronic choke...and i have rpm surge issues because once it is warmed up, the choke re-engages...
