Holy shizz, how long has it been sitting? If you can hear the starter trying to work, but nothing moves, the engine could be frozen in place. Remove the spark plugs, squirt a bit of penetrating oil into the plug holes, and try to rotate the engine over by hand.It should turn over freely, otherwise you could have rust inside locking the rings to the cylinders. If you get it freed up, you might be lucky and not have to do any internal repairs. If it already turns over ok before soaking it, then your starter may be bad.

The starter could most likely be looked up also, you counld try tapping it with a hammer but that might not work all the time, First try turning it over by hand first like he said if it does the go straight to the starter.

X2 on turning it by hand and the penetrating oil hint. If you can turn it over by hand IE; grabbing a hold of the belt or putting a sockett on the flywheel and turning/rotating than you might have a bad starter or somethinig alse electronically related. Also it help to remove all the plugs before rotating by hand - you dont have to fight the preassure in the cylinders.
