my 97 camaro suddenly turns off while running... then it takes several attempts to turn back on. I think it has something to do with the security feature. Please help.

 

It could be lots of things. Does it happen faster on hotter days? It could be a relay that when hot, opens. When it happens, turn the key on and listen for the fuel pump to prime. If you have a volt meter and can cause it to happen, start checking relays, fuses and wires.
