Woo Hoo eventually pulled a 12 seconder

Well, after the weekend at the drag strip I was really gutted on the first day when after LS6 intake, 3" true duals, LT headers and a bit of EFIlive tunnning I only got a 13.12 after my previous best of 13.24 (albit on a different track)

Anyways, on the second day and after lowering my spark table (stock 99 z28 is well advanced and runs rich) i pulled a 12 sec pass on my second run, and with street tires and a poo 0-60ft time

Here is it:

0-60ft : 2.0437
1/8 ET : 8.4299
1/8 MPH : 84.72
1/4 ET : 12.9718
1/4 MPH : 106.58

This track is not the best in the UK, I had to set off on 50% throttle to get best launch, and also the 1/8 times and MPH values as different depending on right or left side of track, RH side is always about 4 mph faster than left, on same ET at 1/8 and 1/4

But still pulled a 12, just, and was running 13 flat all day, could have got another couple of 12s I think but was in bracket series and had to back off so I didn't break out

Hey man. i have a 99 z28. The only things done to it are SLP Offroad Y pipe, SLP Loudmouth 1, and SLP Mass Air Flow sensor. How rich was your car before you down tuned it? Mine doesn't seem to be rich but I'm not sure.:icon_shrug: I'm just wondering, Thanks.

ss_2000, dude im sure you'll easily get into 12 with the 3.73s, providing you can get power down. I tried a ball out launch at full throttle after the green and it just spun up all the way to 2nd, got a 14.5 on that run hahah :) Yeah still 2.73 gears and have to lauch at 50% throttle

kissmytush, well the stock pcm parameters command 11.7 : 1 fuel ratio, but optimum is more around 13:1 to 12:1, so I set mine at 12.6 (dont know how accurate it is exactly as i dont have a wide band yet) but I check with a 2002 camaro tune and that runs about 12.5 ish so i cant be that far out. PLus most tuners say they keep the stock MAF as the calibration changes depending on this

Well im gonna have to make plans to go sometime this summer. I know im gonna be hooked after that. Lol. :) So when you gonna do the rear end maudy???

Ok, I have a SLP Mass Air Flow sensor could that fix this? How do I check it to see what I am running?

No idea, it could make the car leaner, apparently they shouldn't be changed unless you can calibrate it. Do you have HP tuner or EFIlive, it will tell you the commanded value in the tune, or if you get the car dynoed see if they can hook it up to a wide band sensor and this tells you the actual ratio

SS2000, lmao, only when it breaks :D

Lol!! I hear that maudy!! Thats why i just went ahead and did the gears and did all the bearings and seals, its all good just staying away from sticky tires!! lol.
