And I mean in the world, not just american made. I want to say the 2006 WRX STI but I really don't know. Any thoughts?

 

I dont know about top speed but the Ariel Atom is the fastest accelrating for sure. The fastest around the track would probly be the lotus exige S. But for top speed I dunno. I know for the V6 its the Jag XJ220 at 217MPH that came out over 10 years ago & still is the fastest V6.

 

I think the 944 turbo would do 160 + back in the 80s the wrx top end is around 150mph. The biggest suprise I got from a 4 cylinder was a ride in a K car turbo with a lotus head factory it was scary would walk the front end right off the road...

 

to my thought one of the very fastest 4 cyls was the supra with the jz 2 twin turbo

 

i thought all the factory supra turbos were inline 6

 

Yeah the 2JZ TT engine found in Toyota Supra's def are 3.0L Inline 6 cylinders.. now are we talking stock from the factory four-banger? and by fast do you mean top speed or 1/4 mile? I believe porsche is up there but i couldnt tell you "in the world" if it's the best

i've driven a 86 944 turbo They're fast as ****... but not fast enough 0-60 right at 6.0...

 

1988 Oldsmobile Aero something or other...it had 4 turbos or something...it was a concept tho
