i outran a police explorer in a geo tracker. i had forgotten to lock the house up, and there had been a recent string of burglaries around the area; and i had seen a car down towards the neighbors that didnt belong there. well, i high tailed it home, doin about 80 in a 40 on a big, open, empty road. next thing, i see headlights in the rear view. slowly, they are getting closer. so i step on it, drop it into fourth, and get movin past 100 (mind, its a geo!!) the only thing i see are the high beams in the rear view. i yank it down a back road behind my house, pass a car up a hill, and i got a good bit of distance. however, i made the mistake of trying to hide off to the side of the road in, well, a very open area. that didnt work, and my only escape was across a small field, which was muddy, and my 4wd was broken. i see the truck going past, then i see them stopping, and pulling in behind me. i stomp on it to take off, then all of a sudden, the flashing lights were on me. i told the guy the story (who was actually a park ranger), and he called the local po-po. the escorted me home, checked the property, and left a number for my parents to call.

also, a few times in the camaro, i have seen cops pull people over out of their jurisdiction (townie's in the park, out of the boro), and just take off right after i pass them. i think ive done it 3 times now. they dont even look back though

 

I keep reading the same old thing, "You can't outrun the radio", but in this case a guy was going past a cop on a side street. What the hell is the cop going to call in? "I saw a black streak, eastbound"! I don't recommend trying to outrun the cops, but my opinion is, in the perfect situation, it can be done.
