97 ss vs 350z

Hey guys an auto 350z has been wanting to throw down, I have a manual 97 SS with slp exhaust, oil cooler, and zr1 wheels (eagle f1) tires. I have a holley power shot filter on it. I also recently purchased a super 44 muffler and am going to clean out the cats and remove "the cone of silence". Now I dont really know much about the z as in year but should I decline and save the embarrasement for later or go for it? Thanks !.

I'd go for it. Control your wheel spin and you should take him. Just make sure you shift fast. It should be close but as long as he is close to stock you should take him.

This will be a good race and should be very close. Either one of you should win.

Alright thanks guys, any part you could recommend to ensure victory?

Nothing cheap and victory can't really be ensured. I think it will be close. Not sure which way it will go

Were the 350s mid 13 sec or is that the 370? If its the 350 then I would prey he botches his launch

The 350 runs low 14s to high 13s I believe. Not sure about the 370.

It will be close but I think if you are good at launching a manual you should be okay. Either way you should not be embarrassed it will most likely be a drivers race. That being said he is in an auto so your shifting will probably determine how it goes.

Nope! 350z run low 15s to mid 14s stock. And the manuals are the faster of the two. I was running faster than Zs at the strip by a half a second or full. Your Maro should win by a car or two.
