go 24 long it wont cost that much more. im thinking a 10k job. the way things are though it depends on where your at and all. what no pictures?

 

x2 at car covers for the short term. or rotate with your least fav. lol. yah dont forget about power and maybe water to it.

 

Definitely build it much bigger than you think you would need because trust me, you will fill it quicker than you think.

 

if its a pole building the bays are 12 feet so they pretty much figure it at 12 foot intervals, at least thats how it was 20 sum yrs ago when i had my shop built. i told the guy 30 x 40 and he told me it would be like a hundred bucks more for 36 x 40. now i wish it was 42x40. lol.

I went 28x36 and its overflowing!! but thats all the room I had in my yard!! check local building guidelines like x amount of feet from neighbors yard, x amount of feet from street etc... or if metal type buildings are even allowed??
this was last spring i doubt i could put a push mower in it now!!

 

Our garage is 28 x 34 it is stick built off of a pole foundation the concrete is about 6" thick with rebar and mesh. Ceilings are a little over 12' for a car lift. I have close to $20,000 in it and we did most of it ourselves, except for the concrete which I am glad I had someone else do it I could have never done as nice of a job as 6 guys who knew what they were doing. Two items with the concrete was they didnt feel the fiber was worth it and they used something they called zip strip that will allow the controlled cracking instead of actual expansion joints. This is a big plus in my book because I dont have any problem with the creeper getting hooked up in an expansion joint.

 

the way things are the price is going to do nothing but go up. i had my shop built first, about a yr later i did the slap using the board around the base as part of my forms. luckily my door was tall enough to get the cement truck inside so we didnt have to wheel barrow any. i dont think youll have that issue with your size shop. about a yr later i built part of the loft and every yr after that i would add to it.

 

bummer, looks like the only open spot is on the side that you cant get to without ruining the front yard. well if you win the lottery you can buy the neighbors lot.

 

well in my case im 41 never had kids and worked my **** off since i was 16, I would find nice decent cars i could afford novas,camaros etc.. fix them up a little and sell for 2-3 g profit then buy a little nicer one and repeat the proccess till i had the cars i wanted.
as for my garage i took out a second morgage on my house to pay for it!!
I did most of the building myself with some friends and relatives.
I had garages with gravel and or dirt floors till i was 28!!
Some guys are born into it and you cant hate them for that, just luck of the draw brother!!
