Lets see your garages
When we bought our house, it had a nice sized two car garage. However, like many others here, I soon had more than two cars. In our development, any garage must use the same materials as your house so a pole barn was not in the picture. I am retired and wanted a workshop so this is what I came up with. The new garage is the one at the end of the driveway. Since I knew I was going to put in a lift, we built it with 12'4" ceilings. It is 25.5' wide x 30' deep, which is the biggest I could build and still meet setback requirements. I bought those cabinets with the countertop for $300 on Craigslist. Money well spent.

My wife is an artist and these are some of her paintings that I have hung in the garage.

I've ran out of wood right now but yes i'm going to be doing everything right...Its really cheaper to build it..I've gotten most of the initial structure up..Ive got to get more wood but it'll be something that'll be continued into summer time..I'll take pictures of what I've got so far tomorrow..Since money is tight right now because I have an ls1 ive got to get built and yet again, another project..this will be a tough one. thanks for your insight.. My father is helping me design it and he is pretty much the one that is good at this stuff.. He use to do this stuff for a living..except bigger..ALOT bigger. I spent 1300 bucks on the building beside it..it is a 2 story building, Eventually that whole backyard will be just one big building..haha.
heres my garage. i do everything in it. minor frame work, total suspension and brake overhauls, engine swaps, trans swaps, clutches, tune ups, occasional (and unsuccessful) body work, lots of exhaust work, and some custom fab

95% of the previously listed work i didnt even have a nice wood floor to work on

Here is my new garage. I went from a 1-1/2 to a 2-1/2 and it is still not big enough. Are they ever big enough? I still have some organizing.

Thanks. I will pass your compliment on to her. I am pretty proud of her. We have only been married 43 years...might keep her a bit longer!!!
Well the worst garage here is still better than mine, but I make do.
The Camaro's home is just big enough to park in. No room for anything else.
The Austin looked lost in there, but it's way smaller than the 2nd gen Camaro!:

The canopy out back is where everything really happens. It's got more room than the garage, and plenty of lights and plugs for whatever I'm doing:
