1969 Camaro I bought in 1974
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
350 4 bolt block, bored 0.060" over, with a 400 crank that had the main journals turned down. This was done in 1983, so it was a new idea to stroke a 350 with a 400 crank. Doug Nash 5 speed, now Richmond Gear. This is the first version.
Suspension Modifications:
WS-6 rear springs - this is the old second gen Pontiac hotrod spring package. Used Moroso aluminum spring eye kit, nice and solid, plus subframe connectors which are now welded into the cage. Cut one coil off the front SBC springs (stock 69 Camaros came with one of three set of springs - 6 cylinder, small block, and big block.) I tried all three, and the best available in 1976 was a single coil cut off the small block springs. Read more ยป
