Default Trick Flow heads

Would Trick Flow aluminum heads with 2.05 valves be too big for a 305?

Well it depends more on the flow but with a valve size of 2.05 I would say they are very big runners. and as far as too big...are you running a class that requires a 305? are you gonna turn 10000 rpm? its a race car right? If not then yea they are probably too big.

well right now it's just a project for whatever I wanna do with it and i got a sweet deal on the heads so I took it. I'm thinking about looking into getting a 400 for it. And I'm not sure if they are actually 2.05. The guy said they were but I'm thinking they are just 2.02s.

If ya go with a 400 and throw every thing at it to match you can make some serious power. I done 2 different 400s a couple weeks ago. One made 330 hp with almost stock parts. The other made 780 hp! and both was built for the same class car.

well if it's a 2.05 valve then more than likely it's a 215cc or higher runner which is a high flow runner. Great for high end power but boggy for low end.
