oil pressure issue
#11
Maybe, maybe not, crabmeister. It could be the oil he put in. His old oil may have been thicker than the 10w30 he just put in. What was in it before?

oil pressure
Before the oil change it was 40-30 psi even after it warmed up. I think I will go to Car Quest and get a new filter and some thicker oil, what would be to thick. I thought that using a higher end Mobil filter it would be better. I think this is a bunch of crap that changing the oil would do this. The motor is getting taken out this winter but want to be able to drive it this summer. What PSI do you consider to low. Thanks, Jerod

When my daughter's Supra starting killing mosquitoes in a 10 block radius and after the fire dept had made several responses to false alarms, I stuck some Restore in her engine and it flat-out cured it. It was amazing. So I had a 350 that was dying from a dose of cam metal and I tried Restore on it and my oil pressure went from 40 psi to less than 5 psi in a matter of 15 miles. I dumped it as soon as I got home.

oil pressure
I changed it to 15w40 and a car quest oil filter. The Mobile one was about 2 inches shorter than the new one. The new one was like the orginal 6 inch tall. I was told by some that it could have been the oil filter causing the problem. But the perssure is now what is was before 40 going down the road, and 12 at idle. Thanks, Jerod
