Default New Clutch

Its about that time for a new clutch, and I have been looking around and found a clutchmaster stage 1 and a spec stage 1, and was wondering if you guys had any input on these? Also I called a mechanic because I dont have much time on my hand and he told me it would run me 1300, which i think is insane, both clutches are under 400, so my next question was can this be done in my garage?? Let me know what you think.
