Default Mercury 429 in a 3rd gen?

My uncle has a Mercury 429 big block sitting in a ford camper that's rusting on his proprety and he's selling it for $500. The engine needs an overhaul as it is sitting since 5 years. Can it fit? Is there too much butchering to do?

waay to much butcherin to do, such as relocating the motor mounts, changing all the wiring, possibly modifying the inner fenders and firewall. your best bet is to find a 350 or something similar. you can pick up a good 350 for the same if not less than the 429 and plus, performance parts are much cheaper on the 350 and it bolts right in
