Default LT1 Stroker

Hey im looking at doing the bottom end of my LT1. Does anyone have any suggestions or have some light to shine on the subject.
I am thinking of doing a 383 strocker with 9.1 compression for a blower.

You can get a stroker kit to fit the LT1. However; if you intend to supercharge you should spend the extra money and get all forged internals. It would also be a good idea to install 4 bolt mains. Due to the way the engine is built and installed, this engine is not a good candidate for a top mounted blower; however. there are several good kits for front mounted centrifugal superchargers. This is computer controlled, so computer tuning is a must for decent results.

I found a forum post selling a forged 383 stroker kit with a Eagle 3.75 crank .040 srp dish pistons 5.7 I-beam rods ground for clearing big cams, and arp main caps for a compression ratio of 9.1 he says the kit has 300 miles on it.

As far as my engine goes it has been modified for 4 bolt splayed mains, and is also .030" over so im hoping .040" will work for me. It is running a ati procharger p1sc centrefugal supercharger. For tuning and monitoring goes I have a innovate Im-1 wideband o2 sensor and datalogger, tuber cat software, tts data master softwar, and ve master software. Aswell as once I had all the work done I would get it booked in to get dynoed and tuned.

Is there anything else you would suggest doing or knowing before I do look much more into doing it? I'm not to familiar with stroking an engine.
Do they have much for benefits aside from getting a stronger bottom end that will take more power? does it add any power ect....
And is it a very good idea too buy a used kit...
Thanks.

You may need to have the side rails at the bottom of the block ground for clearanceto give the connecting rods roomto preventhitting the block. In some cases this may not be necessary, but it pays to pre-assemble the bottom end and spin the crank by hand, to make sure. Also a deeper oil pan holding more oil would be a good idea. Make sure the entire rotating assembly is properly balanced. The hot cam with a supercharger should make a good street machine, but for more kick, get a cam with a blower grind (long duration & high lift on the exhaust). You will also need larger injectors, the kit should tell you what size. If done properly it should be a pretty mean machine, good luck.
