Locker in the Rear end?
hey i was wondering if it would be better, easier, cheaper to put in somekind of locker in the rear end of my 1992 camaro rs v6 3.1. to make it posi, or do you think i should just get a "posi" rear end? and help is appreciated thanks

Do you plan on somehow getting mega-h.p. out of your 3.1, or swapping in a huge v-8? I've got a 91 RS with the 305, and it doesn't come close to needing a "posi". Honestly, I would spend my money on something else.

Unless you plan on only it being a dragrace or dirt car forget a Locker. Also venture a guess you don't know what a Locker is, because you use the term Posi for a Limited Slip rear

RE: Locker in the Rear end?
hey guys thanks for the information on that. and black87 not being a butthead or anything like that, just trying to understand that's all, but i think that a limited-slip rear end is where one tire spins "basically" i know that they might both spin if the rear end catches right, and that a posi-rear end is where they both "constantly" spin when you get on the gas, which is what i want because i like to get the car sideways every once in awhile, so my guess is that you might not know what one is?? and replies are appreciated, and no offense will be takin on either side hopefully, but i do thank you for your input, sean.

FYI...Open rear is when one tire only has traction.
Positraction (posi) Chevolets old marketing term and LIMITED SLIP areONE and the SAME THING. When one wheel loses traction the power is switched to the other wheel. Delveloped for poor driving conditions not burnouts. So the term "posi" is a slang word for a LIMITED SLIP and it is not some special type of rear.
