Default Lifters and Heads

alright so i had new lifters and heads put in for 2 grand( i kno alot of money and probably a rip off). so anyway i start driving and like a month later it starts ticking so i take it back and they say my camshaft is messed up but i wouldnt be able to drive if it was messed up right? so yea they refused to check my lifters so i filed a complaint with the better business bureau. They replied to my resppnd and is now waitin on the business and they only have ten days to reply. SO if i win this case they have to fin the problem or replace it with somethin of the same value. Which is like a new engine and trans. Wat i was wondering is can a LS1 be put into a 3.4 without having to change the trans? ot anything? or do the trans have to be changed?

I will go with the usual answer of "it'd be easier to sell your 3.4 Camaro and take the money that you would put into the swap with the money from the sale and put it towards an LS1 Camaro." Now that that's done I'll try to answer your question. I think it is possible to change it without changing the transmission. But I'm not completely positive. (I guess that wasn't too helpful, was it?)

Bellhousingsare different. While I'm sure you'd be able tocustom fitit, why would you want the LS1 matched up to a weak transmission? Asking for more problems. Also, there is more than $2,000 of parts that would have to be changed to put in an LS1. Engine alone would eat up most of that. New radiator and fan, PCM, V8 springs in front (unless you'd like the front sagging low), exhaust (if yours is stock), and I'm sure other things would be needed along the way.

This will tell you all that is needed. Cheers.

Comp cams has a good list of information on installation procedures and what can lead to fast and excessive wear if not installed correctly.

You can find it here.
