Intakes ???
I'd like to talk intakes for a second.
I have a new long block Chevy 383 & want to know everyones idea on which intake to go with. I have a Victor Jr with 1" rise or an Eldebrock performer that is standard. I have a 750 Holley & a 750 Eldebrock.
I was thinking of cutting the Jr down to standard height & running the Holley on it. Also so it would fit under the hood without cutting a hole. But looking at the specs for the jr according to Jegs its more for a 3000 to 8000 rpm range. I don't plan on running my engine more than 6000 max so it will last for a while.
Could someone giude me in the right direction on which to use.
I ran the Eldebrock set up on an engine is a 1990 RS & it really snapped you back when you dumped the clutch. I've never run the other setup but have been a Holey fan for along time. I don't know why
Should I put the Holley on the performer intake & sell the other stuff or run the Eldebrock as a package. Or should I put the Eldebrock carb on the jr & run that as a package.
What I want is a really nice street package to go play with the Japanese cars that are running around the local streets and smoke um.
The trans I'll be using is a 700R4 with a 2500 stall,it is all going into a 1974 Camaro I'm restoring.
Thanks for the advise.

RE: Intakes ???
If you want more bottom end to mid range power go with the RPM performer intake. I have one on my brothers camaro with a 650 eldebrock carb, and we out ran a v8 99 camaro with a 125 shot. It pulls hard till about 5800-6000.
I also like the victor intake but gotta have enough of an engine for it. And as for the holley cab, I have NEVER had a good street holley, Only thing I use them for is wide open at the track.
But since you are useing a stall I would (just if it was me) I would have a nice cam with the victir jr. with the eldebrock carb, I may would mill the top alittle.
