I have a 1970 Camaro with the stock SB 307. I'm looking for some good places to buy parts for it, and what should I start with? I know about cars, just not about older ones like this, so any help is very appreciated. Also, if I wanted to get it ported and polished, how much would that cost and wheres a good place to have it done?

 

Start with a carb and intake upgrade, or even an exhaust upgrade. Next try ignition upgrade. Plugs, wires, cap rotor, maybe an HEI. Headers are an easy upgrade. You also dont have to buy new , try Craigslist.org

 

Don't bother reworking those old heads, get some up to date ones. Personally I would do away with that small bore 307 and put in a 4" bore engine like a 302, 327, or a 350. The larger bore unshrouds the valves and allows the engine to breathe a lot better.
