Default High Kilometers?

Hey, I'm getting that 1998 Z28 but it has about 150,000 or so.. is that high? Should I be considering re-building my engine soon? and will there be lots of power loss because of it?

150,000 isent that much, espeacialy on a 98. But it also really depends on who drove the car, whether it be a wreckless 16 year old or a grandma. And no, there should still be plenty of power,(for a v6 anyways..) Maybe lost 10-15 horses from new.

depends. You said kilo, I cant think off hand but what is that in miles? c4maro has a good point, if the PO was some kid you might be looking at some work. If it was taken care if you should be good. What is the asking price? Have you driven it or had it looked at? take a look at the dipstick, is it gunk or gold?

They said it was traded in by some old timer who was tired of driving it and bought a buick. Their asking 8995 and in Canada thats pure gold. Only other camaro for sale that I found in my end of the province was a 2002 SS for $40,000. Not quite my range. I drove it and I've never had a V8 before but it has power out the everything and handles really nice. I checked the dipstick and it looked like gold.. but it was cold out and I was rushing.. so I didn't stay outside long playing with my dipstick.. heh heh

That's 93,000 miles. Not too bad, as long as it was taken care of.

Yeah kinda high, hoping the old guys pacemaker kept him around 50mph or less. And Z28's are only V8 in that year aren't they?

All Z28's are V-8 only, and have been since the beginning of time.
