hey guys i am trying to get a rough but close estimate on doing a cam for my 1992 camaro rs, is there anything else that needs to be done as far as heads etc.? do i need to beef anything else up or replace anything with a stronger piece thanks i got an estimate from a buddy but not sure how close it was, he quoted around 3500 4000????? thanks for any input

 

He isnt your buddy if he wants $3500 to change a cam, you need to make sure the cam you choose is compatable with the other components you are running (ie is the lift acceptable for the heads you have, is the duration of the cam in line with the compression of the engine) what cam are you looking at? What engine is it? You can change the cam yourself its really not all that hard to do.

 

it's the v6 3.1, yeah i heard that the cam isn't much money i thought i heard somewhere it's all the other head work and whatever else needs to be done in order to have a cam
