Default cam measurement

I have a few old cams I cant remember what lift they are, too try and estimate the valve lift I measured one the cam highest point with calipers and got 1.534" then I measured the "lowest point" and got 1.235". I took these two numbers and subtracted them and got .299 I took the .299 times the 1.5 rocker arm ratio and got .4485 is this the typical advertized cam lift or is there another way to do it?
