Cam beak in
Roller cams do not need the extended break in that flat lifter cams do, and you can even reuse the old lifters in a pinch. Just make sure that the lifters are in good condition especially the rollers, as a bad lifter or seized roller can wipe out the cam. Put on a good coating of assembly lube on cam and the rest of the valve train, adjust the valve clearance and you are set hit the road.
run the engine about 25 minutes at 2500rpm's,dump the oil and filter, install oil and filter.you will see some metal in the oil, dont get alarmed this is normal, look for heavier, bigger pieces.might not hurt to pull the valve covers and look for metal in the bottom of the head where the oil drains back to the oil pan.alot of people do there break-ins different,i've done it different.i think it comes down to who your engine builder is.some say 25mins@2500rpm's and some say 30mins@3000rpm's
