advantages of the manual-

more control over the vehicle, slightly higher top end speed, adds "feel" to the ride

auto advantages-

longer transmission life, no replacing burnt clutches, easier to drive, less missed shifts, easier to drive in traffic, cant stall out

IMO, ( In My Opinion) i would buy an automatic trans vehicle. it all depends on what your looking for. i will post actual times

If you are talking about LT1 and LS1 cars (93-02) then for drag racing I would get an auto and put a 3500-4000 rpm torque converter in it, it will be faster than a stick and have less of a chance of breaking the rear end.

if you are going to be drag racing you will want an auto. you will get more HP to the wheels with a stick but auto's will give you better ET's.

ET = elapsed time. On another note is your keyboard broken? Typing in all caps is very hard to read and on forums like this it is considered to be yelling.
