97 Z28 LT1 running hot

I have a 97 Z28 that has been down for about 4 years. The problem is that it runs hot. It got so hot with my wife driving it that the seam in the radiator was leaking. The smog pump had gone out on it so I put a new smog pump on it and a new radiator in it.I was going to do a Combustion Leak Detector on it yesterday. but the instructions said let it run for 10 minutes before you start the test.it also said have the antifreeze 2 to 3 inches below the neck of the radiator.so I made sure it was 2 to 3 inches below the radiator. But before 10 minutes is up antifreeze starts coming out the top of the radiator so I cant run that test on it.Could someone tell me what test I could do on It.I would love to get it back on the road .Thanks

Is your electric radiator fan turning on?

make sure the air dam is still there (plastic scoop under frontend) as said ^^^ make sure fan is working, bleed air from cooling system,,, a few times. pressure test on the cooling system would be good to look for leakage. here are a couple things to look at. https://camaroforums.com/forum/lt1-l...-system-66742/ look at 12 and 15 here 4th Gen LT1 F-Body Tech Aids

After that long, I'd start by flushing the entire system. And replace anything that is leaking. I would also replace the thermostat and possibly the water pump too. If it's rusty water it may have already taken out the pump.
