Exclamation 85 305

yeah i have a 85 chevy silverado with a 305 and i pulled the timing cover to change the timeing chain and gears out and when i got to looking it kind of looks like part of the main bearing is like comming out of the cap i havnt pulled the motor or pan yet and dont know if i should just get a new motor or what i should do anyone got any good ideas?

Hard to say,you need to get that main cap off and see if the bearing can just be replaced or if the crank has damage and needs to be turned.
You might get away with just a bearing for a while but I'd look and the others if you can get the pan off with the motor in the truck.
I'd prolly just get a 350 anyway,305's are a real dog in a truck.
If that's not and option in the budget then a crank kit might be worth doing but only if it still has good compression in all holes,no sense throwing good money at a worn out 305.
