Default 572 cid Question

I'm thinking about dropping a 572 cid 710hp 730ft/lbs tourqe engine in my 68 camaro. Has anyone done this? Or know of anyone that has? I would like to find out if it will even fit. I don't want to do a bunch of modifications if I can avoid it. If you guys have any info I would appreciate it Thanks.

they came with BB in them from the factory so you can get all the mounts and stuff you need , the only problem I can see is the 572 I belive is a tall deck block and it might hit the power brake booster if you have one. I know the normal BB had to use a low profile valve cover to clear the booster

Big blocks belong in first gens...It will defenitely fit.you will have to run the small power brake booster or go to a hydro boost for the power brakes, to get tall valve covers to work but it will fit...you will need a good frame to take the torque..sub frames at least...an Art morrison full frame would be best...will require all the good stuff..

It'll work fine with the brake booster mod an the headers might hit the floor cause the heads will be higher. Just add an in to the down tubes of the headers if they are too close. A fellow in our car club had a 632 in his 68 last year an has a 704 Big Chief i it now! Definatly front heavy, but he still can run a 7.95@175on a 10.5 tire on a sticky track.

The block is no bigger than a 427 or 454. The extra cubes come from increased stroke and bore.
